Reviews of Jay's book "Stages: An Autobiography" When I first saw the cover for Jay's book, I have to admit, I didn't like it or why he was not posed. Then, I read his book. My perspective is that he is looking at the stages of his life. It's not a typical book by Chapters, it is set in Scenes and Acts, which was a nice change of pace. He talks about everything from the heart and his wife, Kandilyn also shares some of her thoughts, along with family members and friends. I received the book on a Monday, I finished the book that same night. It was that good, it was that interesting. I found I couldn't put it down, when I did, I went back to it to continue reading. Jay has never been the one to go out "solo" so to speak and I am so glad he finally did this book. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND to any Osmond fan, any Jay fan - this is a must read. If you like autobiographies, this is a must read. Some funny stories, some sad stories. Reading this you will understand Jay Wesley Osmond even more. Thank you Jay for doing this book. This book is full of stories, not just from Jay, but also from other members of his and Kandi's family. A great read, so great that I want volume 2. I know this is no easy task, but the information is easy to read and easy to relate to. It is a great book that helps us understand the ups and downs that Jay and his family have endured, just like the rest of us. I thought the book was wonderful. Jay Osmond put his heart and soul into this Book. There were times when I laughed out loud and cried. When a book can make you feel good inside when you are finished reading it I would say it was masterpiece. This book is a very easy read and reels you in right away. It'll make you feel all kinds of emotions, but mostly, it'll make you laugh. If you're an Osmond fan, it'll give you a whole different perspective on what it's like to be a star. We all envy celebrities, but in this book, you'll discover that celebrities actually envy us mere mortals, too. You'll learn the "human" side of Jay, which makes him even more endearing. The stories told by him and told about him are often hilarious, and also, often very tender. He loves deeply, but is also loved back the same way. If you're not an Osmond fan (where have you been all your life!), it's an opportunity to get to know this wonderful family and most of all, it's most genuine member, Jay. Don't pass this one up! I felt as every teenaged girl my age in the 70's did - we thought we knew everything there was to know about Jay Osmond. WRONG! In this book Jay shares with us a poignant glimpse into his life in the limelight as well as one where he just wanted to be "just" Jay. Moving entries from not only his equally famous siblings and close friends, but even more touching were entries from his wife and sons. A truly admirable, gifted musician - Jay gives us a peak at how he handled life while balancing responsabilities, wanting to be or not be in the public eye to finding the love of his life...finally and genuinely becoming a great dad like his own father! I laughed, I sighed and just couldn't put this book down! A great collector's item for all true Jay Osmond fans. Get to know the toothy wide-eyed kid, the flirt, the ordinary guy.....JUST JAY!
