50th Anniversary World Tour

The year 2007 marked the 50th anniversary for my brothers and me in the entertainment industry.  Our careers have been so rewarding, and we are very thankful for the support and love shown to us by our fans throughout the years.

I was so excited about our 50th Anniversary Celebration at The Orleans in Las Vegas, Nevada August 12-14, 2007.  It was a lot of work in planning, rehearsing, interviews, etc., but I hope those of you who were able to be there, enjoyed the outcome as much as I did.  I think we all felt my mother's spirit there, it was very present at this celebration.  Though we would have loved for our father to be present at the festivities, it just wasn't possible due to his health, however, I know he would have been pleased to see all nine of us on stage together again.

I hope everyone is excited for the PBS special airing in March 2008, I know I am!  Look for the DVD to come out around Christmastime ~ and we'll re-live the party all over again!

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this look back through photos...

Love,
Jay

The celebrating kicked-off Sunday, August 12th with
fans checking in for the events and meeting up with friends.

While fans were gathering in the event room, the
Osmonds were getting together for interviews,
a family photo opportunity, and rehearsals.

The rehearsals - It was like riding a bike...
each Osmond just fell into place, even though
they hadn't all performed together for 25 years.

Marie and Jay went over some choreography

Getting ready for the Meet & Greet Monday, August 13th

Meet & Greet time ~ The Osmonds greet a packed showroom!

PBS emceed this event, and Vegas proclaimed it...
OSMOND DAY!

When the Osmond Family gets together, it is emotional,
and full of jokes and laughter.
(Above) Marie got the giggles-her laughter is quite contagious...
(Below) She had them all laughing!

A question and answer time took place with the audience.

Marie needed to refresh her makeup...the Meet & Greet
was being taped by PBS.  To hurry things up, she
borrowed lip gloss, powder and a mirror from the audience!

A 50th Anniversary cake was brought out,
complete with candles ablaze.
Jimmy was also awarded a gold record at this time,
which he received for his rendition of "Fly Me To The Moon"
on the CD "Over The Rainbow" in the U.K.

Fifty is a lot of candles to blow out!

The Osmonds shook hands with the audience as the
Meet & Greet came to a close.

Jay found a quiet moment in between interviews and rehearsals
to prepare for his drum solo at Monday night's show.

Interviews were taking place during every free moment...
Here, the Osmonds are being interviewed by Pat O'Brien
from ABC's The Insider.  Other interviews were aired on
The Today Show, Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition,
and Access Hollywood...to name just a few.

Monday, August 13 - 8:00 P.M. ~ SHOWTIME!

Jimmy Osmond planned a fabulous production - complete with an explosive entrance that grabbed the audience from the very first note.
There were exciting special effects throughout, which kept viewers on the edge of their seats...and brought many to their feet.

There is nothing quite like seeing this fabulous family all
together on one stage...and of course, the night wouldn't
have been complete without Mr. Andy Williams!

Donny & Marie sang their old hits...
just like it was the 1970s all over again.

Footage was played on the backdrop screens...
showing old treasured memories from the past 50 years.

Chartbuster "Crazy Horses" brought everyone to their feet
with tremendous special effects...and of course, Jay,
"Mr. Crazy Horses" himself, raced across the stage!

All nine siblings...(left to right),
Virl, Alan, Jimmy, Merrill, Marie, Donny, Jay, Wayne and Tom

It was a sight to behold!

There were two more fabulous shows Tuesday, August 14th, in addition to various fan appreciation events.
Below are some photos of the After Party, which followed Monday night's performance.
PBS was on hand to film the excitement, and there was a huge celebration cake for all to enjoy.
There were also some lucky winners drawn from "The Osmond Wish Box!"

Jared Osmond, #2 grandchild in the Osmond Family,
was on hand at the fan events to greet friends, and share his
excitement over his new CD release, "Innocent Ones."

In addition, Jay (along with help from friend Tom McFarland
and wife, Kandilyn Osmond), spent hours putting together
memorable old Osmond film footage.
The footage was presented to fans Tuesday, August 14th
at "Jay's Film Festival."
Unfortunately, Jay ended up being detained by
interviews and rehearsals, but his lovely wife Kandilyn
stepped in to save the day!

Kandilyn did a wonderful job narrating the footage
they put together, and shared a lot of "behind the scenes"
stories, which the audience loved.

Jay's sons, Jason, Eric and Marcus (pictured below with
their mom) stopped by, as did some of Alan Osmond's family
(wife Suzanne, son Tyler, and son David with new bride Valerie).

It was three days of nonstop excitement...and a party you don't have to miss!
Watch for The Osmonds' 50th Annivesary Special to air on PBS March 2008,
and look for the DVD to be released in December 2007.
