Issue 12 - March 24, 2010

Hello!

I thought I would take a cue from Jay's CD and write a new letter because IT'S ABOUT TIME I did!  :-)

Before I begin, I'd just like to say thank you to all of you who have been so kind and supportive during this difficult time of loss for the Osmond Family with the passing of our dear Michael. We have received many cards and messages, and I just want to say that we appreciate the warm outpouring of love that we've felt from you. Marie and her family are doing as well as can be expected, but please continue to pray for them.

I've also appreciated the kind encouragement I've been given from so many regarding my little adventure with Kandi's Korner.  It has been very good for me to have this outlet and your support has been wonderful!

Sharee is busy as she continues the process of selling her home and moving to Colorado so that she and her sweet little children can join my brother there. I certainly miss having her creative input on a daily basis, but she has been kind enough to finish making a few items (such as "Family First Aid Kits") for my booth at The Quilted Bear and it's going great.

Here are a couple of recent photos of Kandi's Korner that I thought you might like. As you can see, it's still a "work in progress," but trying to improve it a little each week has become as much fun for me as making the items to go in it.

My most exciting news is that our son, Jason (or should I say "Elder Osmond") will be coming home in FOUR WEEKS from his mission in Nashville, Tennessee. He has done such a wonderful job working there and I'm so proud of all of his efforts. I can't wait to hug him!

Ahoy! Eric has some exciting news too. He is now working in Orem, Utah at a place called "Pirate Island."  It is a themed restaurant along the lines of "The Rain Forrest Cafe," but all of the servers are also actors. Eric beat out thousands of other applicants for a spot on their "crew" and he does a wonderful job as the pirate he has created called "Indigo." He will serve you your food without breaking character. He absolutely loves it and he's fabulous at it! Here is a photo of "Indigo," and I also caught one of Jay enjoying his cherry soda.

Marc has wonderful news, as well. After saving every penny he earned for nearly a year, he bought himself a high quality telescope that is as big as he is! He LOVES astronomy. He just soaks in information that he reads in textbooks and on line about anything to do with our solar system and beyond. Here is a photo of him hugging his new "toy."

Jay's exciting news is that his book is coming along beautifully! I'm so proud of him and the amazing life that he's led and is now working so hard to share with you. I'm also extremely grateful to Terri Shoemaker for the wonderful job she is doing in writing it with him. I think you will be very pleased when you read it.

My exciting news is that I'm starting another Kandi's Korner at the Apple Tree Mall in Branson, Missouri! I hope to have it up and running by mid-April. There will be many specialty items just for the fans that I hope you will like. One of my biggest sellers at The Quilted Bear are what I call my "Bunchie Necklaces."  I thought it would be fun to make some for The Apple Tree Mall that contain charms that would mean something to an Osmond Fan (especially to a "Jay Fan"). For example, one of my necklaces has a drum set and drum sticks and the initials "J", "A" and "Y" hidden within the "bunch."  It's a subtle touch that I thought would be fun. I'm also open to suggestions of the types of items you might like to see for sell there.

My new Kandi's Korner will be at the beginning of aisle C in a locked case. So, if any of you are in Branson after April 15th, take a peek and let me know what you think!

Have a wonderful day!

Kandi
