Issue 14 - April 18, 2010

Hello!

Well, it's done...Kandi's Korner in Branson is up and running - YEAH!  I'm so excited!  I just finished spending almost a week there (on my own - I'm a big girl now!) getting the case filled and ready. I wanted to get it done before the Osmond Brothers began their spring season there. They will start performing April 26th at the Music City Centre, and will perform various dates there throughout the remainder of the year. The theater is conveniently located at about the middle of the the 76 strip - right across from the Apple Tree Mall.  :-)

My booth (it's really just a glass case) is rather unique in the Apple Tree Mall. Most of the items for sale there have a very "country" feel to them. Although I really like country, I decided to set up my booth with a "shabby chic" flavor (my new found favorite style). It is full of vintage porcelain and silver, my own jewelry designs and vintage jewelry that I've either repaired or up-cycled, my handmade brooches, items autographed from my favorite guy and so on. I'm excited about it!

While I was in Branson setting things up, I met my very first customer. Her name is Venita (I'm so sorry if I spelled that wrong).  Venita is from St. Louis, and she and her husband were in town for another event when they decided to stop by Kandi's Korner. I felt really flattered. She bought an autographed copy of Jay's newest CD "It's About Time Again." It made my day to meet her. Thanks, Venita!  :-)

The update on our little family is: Jason gets home Wednesday (Woo Hoo!), Eric is working hard on his internship at UVU and still moonlights as a pirate, and it seems Marcus just keeps growing taller every day.  I think Jason will hardly recognize him.

By the way, I've had several comments on the funny pirate hat Jay wore in a picture in my last letter. Just to let you know that it wasn't an isolated incident (Jay wears "many hats" in his life), here is a photo of Jay delivering Krispy Kreme Doughnuts with Eric to Marc and I last Thanksgiving in Branson. Oh how fun it is to show you the "other side" of Jay.  Ha!
