ISSUE 1

Hello to all of the wonderful "Jay Fans" out there!

Over the years, I've come to appreciate more and more the incredible loyalty you have for Jay and his family. Although I've tried to stay out of the 'spotlight' for the most part, the last few years have been enlightening as I've ventured out among you a bit more. Ever since the day that I found myself standing in for Jay to host "Jay's Film-Fest" (or "Snooze-Fest" as Jimmy likes to call it) in Vegas during the kick-off of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, I feel I began to develop a connection with you that I never had before. I discovered it wasn't so scary to talk to so many people at once - not when we all have so much in common. For example, we all love Jay, which is not hard to do!

I know that many of you have been waiting ever so patiently for his book to come out. I wanted to let you know that I've sorted through all of his boxes (an almost OVERWHELMING task - ha), and he has been in the process of writing for some time. He wants to include A LOT of photos for you, and since all of our photos are now sorted, that shouldn't be hard to do! Yeah! Terri has been helping Jay get his thoughts organized into chapters (what would we do without Terri?!?), and we've put many of our photos into digital format. Jay has asked the boys and I to add our own "sections" to the book and two of our boys have already written theirs. So, we're getting there!  : )

Jay's CD is VERY close to completion and we're all really excited about it. A couple of his songs are definitely my FAVORITES. You'll see what I mean when you hear it.  : )  He's compiled his favorite photos of himself playing the drums over the years, which will be part of the CD foldout.

I would like to thank all of you who have taken pictures of Jay over the years and then given copies to him. There are thousands, and we wish we could give you all "photo credit". Without your input, Jay would not be able to include the kind of comprehensive photographic overview for his projects that he wants to, so THANK YOU!

Now, for my big exciting news - at the end of June, my brother's wife, Sharee, and I developed a little company called "Kandi's Korner", where we make, display and sell our own handmade creations! We've started it through Etsy.com (eBay for the craft lover), and are now branching out to do private parties.

I've always LOVED everything about handmade crafts since I was a little girl. All my parents had to do was to help me get started on a new craft or art project now and then and I was happy! Perhaps some of you have felt the same way over the years. That's why I thought you might like to take a peek at what we're doing.

Here are a few favorite items from our shop at kandiskorner.com...

I'll be adding updates here from time to time, so I hope you'll stop back frequently.   Next, I'll be sharing more photos and a couple of fun stories!

All My Best,
Kandilyn Osmond
