I am pleased to announce that our oldest son, Jason, has received his mission call.  He is going to the Tennessee Nashville mission, and will be leaving for the missionary training center on Jimmy's birthday, April 16th.  His mission covers central Tennessee, the lower bottom right of Illinois, and the left to center Kentucky.  Once we find out the exact area, I’ll be letting everyone know, so those of you nearby can invite Jason and his companion over for dinner…he loves to eat!  HA!  I’ll also be letting you know his address, because he loves reading mail too.  :-)

Meet Jason ~

He is the oldest son of
Jay and Kandilyn Osmond,
and big brother to
Eric and Marcus.

Jason's Band ~

Jason joined a band with friends from school in September 2004, called WALKINS LANE...click here.   (He later started a band with his brother Eric, and two of their cousins, Alex and Tyler (Alan's sons), "Set in Stone.")

Follow this link to take a look back at the WALKINS LANE performance at the 2004 Utah GT.

They recorded their first CD, entitled "Walkins Lane," in 2005.  This is the "garage band sound" at its finest.  Jason did the artwork for the CD, and it was produced by his dad, Jay Osmond.  Click here to order your copy.

Getting to know Jason ~

Jason took art lessons when he was younger, and really enjoys drawing. You'll see several of his drawings from over the years featured on this webpage, and be sure to visit his "gallery" by clicking here.

School & Sports ~

Jason has always loved physical sports. He loves to do things that "push his brain." He really enjoys a challenge.

Jason's favorite sport is basketball, and he likes to watch "extreme sports," such as surfing and skateboarding.

Jason's Dream ~

Jason always loved space and futuristic things. So, it came as no surprise that Jason's dream when he was younger was to go into space and be the pilot or captain of Apollo 35, and to go to Mars. Jason would love to be the first person to explore Mars!

Another Drummer in the Family ~

In keeping with the Osmond family's musical background, Jason "really, really likes to play drums!" A fond memory is when he performed "Little Drummer Boy" with his dad and brothers at the Osmond Family Theater's Christmas Shows.

Jay gave Jason one of his old drumsets, and taught him to play, which includes learning that famous drum solo!
Jason's Goals ~

Jason met a big goal by becoming an Eagle Scout. He aspires to maybe go to BYU or Utah State someday, and is looking forward to serving his mission in the near future.  Jay wrote a touching letter of recommendation when Jason was working toward this goal; click here to read it and see some great memorable old photos of father and son.

Awhile back, Jason, along with friend Scott Haynie and father, Jay, took the 8-week, 20-hour CERT course to become certified as part of the Community Emergency Response Team.  They took the course so Jason could earn the emergency preparedness badge for Boy Scouts, but it ended up being quite an amazing experience for all three of them.  Click here for more details.

Memories & On To the Future ~

Jason has some great memories of an exciting trip he took to London with his dad during the summer of 1999. You can share in this experience with father and son by clicking here.

Of course, a summer favorite of Jason's remains his dad's traditional Fourth of July fireworks. Jason and his brothers just love this tradition.

Jason graduated from high school in 2007, and has started doing some acting.  He played the part of the "bad boy" in the movie Turn Around, click here to read more about this project.
