Merrill's son, Justin, returned
from Mexico last night. He works with the Starkey Hearing
Foundation, and this trip they fitted over 1,400 children with hearing

David Osmond will be at the
Covey Center in Downtown Provo, Utah, Monday, March 1, 2010. He will be
performing and releasing his NEW debut solo CD entitled, "REFLECTED".

Doors open at 6:30 PM with a RED CARPET that everybody gets to walk on and
have their picture taken. Formal dress not encouraged...this is a ROCK
concert!

FEBRUARY 21, 2010 ~
While in Los Angeles to appear
and present at the International Pollstar Awards February 17, 2010, Jay
took time to attend a performance of "Together Forever," a musical tribute
to the songs of Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme, starring
Rebecca Holden &
Kevin Sasaki.
The special Valentine's show was held at the popular night spot, SERRA's
Supper Club in Studio City. Backed by the Martini Jazz Trio under the
musical direction of Charlie Harrison, Kevin and Rebecca debuted a special
song in the show, written by Jay, "Fallin' In Love." It was their honor to
have Jay, and his wife Kandilyn, attend the show to hear them perform this
wonderful song from Jay's new CD "It's
About Time Again."

POPSTAR TO OPERASTAR
Jimmy will be taking part in ITV1’s brand new series in which best-selling
recording artists from the world of pop discover if they’ve got what it
takes to perform as opera divas.
Mentored by classical hit-singer Katherine Jenkins and famed tenor Rolando
Villazon, Jimmy and the other seven contestants will be trained to perform
world famous opera songs – many of them learning to not only sing in a
completely different style, but also a completely different language than
they are used to.
After their performances the pop stars will be critiqued by a panel made
up of their mentors Katherine and Rolando and two critics, international
award-winning rock musician Meat Loaf together with TV presenter and
Classic FM radio host Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.
Popstar to Operastar starts on Friday 15th January ITV1 9pm and will be

For those of you who might remember David (Virl's son) - he used to
drum for the Osmond Brothers and was also their road manager a few years
back...I wanted to let you know that he is now onTwitter.
Dave will be starting up a blog soon as well, and I'll let all of you know
once he gets that up and running.
New Jay Merchandise Coming...Jay is so
pleased to hear the great comments we've been receiving about the artwork
for his upcoming solo CD, "It's About Time Again." We've also listened to
your requests, and will be making an 8x10 of the CD cover photo
available soon. It will be available through the store on
Jay's site, and will also be in The Osmonds
Theater gift shop.
We'll also have a postcard version of the CD cover available soon,
in fact, those have already been ordered. The back of the postcard will
have a little message from Jay on it, so this will also be a fun
collectible piece. The postcard will be available to those attending the
brothers' shows at The Orleans in Vegas later this month, and will also be

Another reminder - Jay is NOT posting on Facebook at this time, so
if you're joining the Jay Osmond Facebook page, you're not going to be
hearing from Jay. You can, however, follow Jay on TWITTER.
As is the rest of the
world, I am greatly saddened by the passing of Michael Jackson. My
prayers are with the Jackson family during this most difficult time.
My experience meeting
Michael occurred around 1972. The Osmonds were performing at the CNE in
Toronto, Canada, and The Jacksons were scheduled to perform the following
day. The Jacksons were staying at the same hotel as we were, and we met
at a scheduled press conference. I think it was either Jackie or Jermaine
who suggested we play a game of basketball together. The game didn’t
happen, but we all had a fun night together. I remember Michael calling
me a “turkey” in fun. That really caught me by surprise, because no one
had called me a “turkey” before. (Sometimes when I’m having fun with my
sons, I’ll call them “turkeys,” and it always reminds me of that time when
Michael called me one.) I also remember hearing him being asked how he
felt the Jacksons compared to the Osmonds (that was a common question back
then, since both families came into the “spotlight” at about the same
time). Michael’s response to the question was, “We’re as different as
night and day!” A whole floor of the hotel was reserved for our two
families, and we had a great time playing football in the hallway. That
was my one and only time I visited with Michael, though my brothers
Merrill and Donny went on to see him again over the years.
Merrill saw him in Vegas, and
I recall Michael inviting Donny to visit with him several times.
Michael once invited Donny to the Neverland Ranch, I
believe it was for his birthday celebration. Donny said the best part was
riding around the grounds with Quincy Jones and Michael. However, once at
the house, he was surprised how Michael lived. It was a sort of childlike
existence, with exotic animals as pets, and theme park rides on the
grounds. It was as though Michael lived in a dream world, because he
wasn’t able to live a “normal life.”
Michael had a unique
sense of humor about him, and told us he was so tired of watching The
Osmonds on the Andy Williams Show. He explained this was something their
father had them do, and Michael joked he became really tired of it! Our
families had many similarities, including our mothers having the same
birthday. We shared many experiences having both come into the spotlight
in the 1970s, and understood the internal pressures of how hard it is to
live a normal life in show business. Sadly, it seems Michael never seemed
to find a balance to ease that constant pressure.
Michael was a tremendous
talent. He will be missed, but leaves an unforgettable legacy of music
for the world to enjoy forever.

Friends,
Just a quick Hello from Peru! I’m
currently in beautiful Cusco! We had today off and so I decided to
go to Macchu Picchu for my 2nd time. It was simply
incredible! Those Incas are sure amazing!
We start up our
missions tomorrow with 300 kids in Cusco then on to Lima where 1,000
more kids are anxiously awaiting their new ears! ;o)
We sure live in a beautiful world!
One of my favorite quotes is by Gordon B. Hinckley: “Every beautiful thing

store...Joseph Smith's Testimony Narrated by Jay Osmond is
NOW AVAILABLE on CD, and each CD is
hand-signed by Jay. This recording was originally released on
cassette tape in the 1970s by Olive Osmond's company, Knowledge
Unlimited, and has now been transferred to CD. This very special
CD is only available through Jay's online store.
