November Topic:  The Oprah Show

Did you get to sing all the songs that you wanted to, if not, what other song(s) do you wish you all could have performed?

Unfortunately Crazy Horses was cut from the show, however, I didn't feel bad - I thought the pacing was good.

So, with over 100 Osmonds together in the studio Jay, did you remember everyone’s name?  ;-)

Are you kidding!?  I can't even remember my brothers’ names half time – HA!

It was wonderful to see all of the Osmonds together. I’m just wondering if there was any particular Osmond you hadn’t seen in awhile and you were looking forward to seeing the most?

I was hoping that every Osmond could make it.  It was so fun to see all those who showed up.  However, we did miss Hyrum and Virginia, and a few others…whose names I can't remember right now…ha ha.

Did being at Harpo Studios remind you of the days when the family taped the Christmas specials and the D&M Show?

It actually did, the part that came back to me the most was all the craziness.  Hats off to all the organizers of the Oprah Show - I thought they did a great job.

What was your favorite part of that day on the Oprah Show?

My favorite part was actually the great response the audience had for our family, and the love our family has for each other and the fans - it was just great.

Did Oprah actually meet each Osmond, or just the performing Osmonds?

She tried to meet as many as possible, but it got a little chaotic, and there were some time pressures - so unfortunately not everyone had that chance, but I hope they had a fun experience.

What did your boys think of the experience?

My kids loved the catered food - ha!

Does getting the entire family together like that spark any desire to try to do that again for another one of those good old Osmond Family Christmas Shows?

I'm not sure I'm up to that again - but you never know!?

How long of a day did all of you have to put in to make that one hour Oprah Show?

We all arrived the night before, had some fun get together, and got up early the next morning.   I'm not really sure how long it took to get it all done, but it was several hours.  Our flight home was whenever we wanted to leave because it was a private, chartered plane.  The whole day seemed overwhelming!

What did you enjoy more - the taping of the show itself, or the plane trip home?

Actually I enjoyed both, however, that pillow fight on the plane was something I'll remember the rest of my life!  Donny took a video of it, I would love it if you would all e-mail him and get him to put it on YouTube!

Just wanted to say how proud I am of all of you, for your courage, dignity, and spirit on what must have been such a bittersweet celebration at the Oprah Show, and it was so good to see you laughing. Are you glad the family decided to go ahead with it?

Yes we are, in fact, it turned out to be a very nice tribute to Father - to celebrate his life.  I thought Oprah did such a nice job in handling that very delicate situation.

I am very curious to know what went on behind the scenes - either at the Harpo Studios or on the plane - what was it like for the whole family to be together all at once like that, as I’m sure it doesn’t happen too often. Did everyone get a chance to speak about the occasion or talk about your father, or was it just fun and chaotic because of so many people?

It was all of that - chaotic, sad, yet happy and crazy.  It all turned out the way Father would have wanted it to.

Are there some family members that you’ve not seen in a VERY long time? If so, what was it like to reunite with them?

I didn't realize we had that many Osmonds in our family!  I met many new members of the family, and it was great to reacquaint with some that I hadn't seen in awhile.

How did it feel to have someone like Oprah wish to go to such great lengths as to put this show together with all of the family members included?

I just thought it was a great experience, one that my family and I will treasure the rest of our lives.

Tell us about the plane trip home...once it was all over and everyone could enjoy the whole family being together.  Do you have any interesting stories to share?

There was a major pillow fight on the plane, everyone threw pillows all at once, it was one of the craziest moments.  Donny managed to videotape it.
